Situated close to Crackington Haven Beach near Bude
Cleave Farm offers a peaceful escape in a charming valley, just a three-minute walk from the stunning Cornish cliffs. Our stone, cob, and slate cottages have been thoughtfully modernised, preserving their original features and rustic charm. The farm is secluded but well-connected, offering tranquillity while being near to popular Cornish spots like Bude.
Our cottages are set on a family-run farm with over 35 years of history, welcoming guests who return year after year. One couple has even been visiting for 29 years! The farm is home to chickens, ponies, and sometimes sheep and pigs. With wonderful coastal walks on your doorstep, including a one-hour trek to Crackington Beach along the cliffs, it’s a perfect base for exploring the beauty of Cornwall.
At Crackington Haven, you’ll find The Coombe Barton Inn, where my husband Gary works as a chef, and two cosy cafes. Bude, a lively seaside town, is just 11 miles away, offering more to explore with its beaches, local food, and picturesque villages. We’re always on hand to offer advice to help make your stay special, while respecting your privacy.
Family-owned since 1978
My family’s connection to Cleave Farm goes back to the 1940s when my father was evacuated here during WWII. He fell in love with Cornwall and eventually moved back with my mother in the 1970s. They bought Cleave Farm in 1977 and set about converting the barns, starting with Abel’s Cottage—the old blacksmith’s smithy.
Over the years, the cottages have been updated, but we’ve kept their charm intact. Today, my husband Gary and I live here with our three children. My sister Sara and I manage the cottages, continuing the family tradition. We’ve welcomed many guests who’ve become friends over the decades. One couple has returned over 35 times and now bringing their children and grandchildren to experience the evolving beauty of Cleave Farm.
We invite you to visit Cleave Farm and become part of our story, enjoying the same wonderful experience that has brought families back year after year.
